Pressure inside drops and bubbles
Surface tension squeezes a drop. A soap bubble has two surfaces, so its excess pressure doubles.
What to notice
Smaller drops and bubbles have a higher internal pressure.
Key relation
Drop: ΔP = 2T/r ; Bubble: ΔP = 4T/r
Try this
Make the radius ten times smaller.
What you can change
- Object: choose Liquid drop, Soap bubble, Air bubble inside liquid
- Radius: 0.1 to 50 mm
- Surface tension: 0.02 to 0.08 N/m
