Diode I–V characteristic
Sweep the voltage across a diode and trace its current.
What to notice
Current rises sharply once forward voltage passes the knee; reverse current is tiny.
Key relation
I = I₀(e^(V/Vт) − 1)
Try this
Move through the knee voltage around 0.7 V.
What you can change
- Applied voltage: -1 to 1 V
- Knee voltage: 0.2 to 0.8 V
