Mutual induction between coils
Drive a changing current in one coil and measure the emf induced in its neighbour.
What to notice
Only a changing primary current induces a secondary emf.
Key relation
ε₂ = −M dI₁/dt
Try this
Reverse the current ramp and watch the induced polarity reverse.
What you can change
- Mutual inductance: 1 to 100 mH
- Primary current rate: -50 to 50 A/s
