Refraction and total internal reflection
Send a ray across a boundary between two optical media.
What to notice
When light goes toward a lower refractive index, sufficiently large angles produce total internal reflection.
Key relation
n₁sinθ₁ = n₂sinθ₂
Try this
Use n₁ = 1.5, n₂ = 1.0 and increase the angle.
What you can change
- Incident medium index: 1 to 2
- Second medium index: 1 to 2
- Incidence angle: 0 to 80 °
